Amazing video! I found I recover better at the gym, and have mo energy in the gym. I had no idea I was potentially getting these other benefits.

  • @raddgreat01 says:

Siim your link to your supp list doesnt reply to my email

    • @LVArturs says:

It replied once to me, but not to later attempts. And it’s hard to tell whether there have been updates or not…

  • @flower7022 says:

Had a look at my supplement bottle.. It’s 4mg. Was just taking one per day

  • @Fun-tx7lp says:

How much evidence should we have about short term and long term effects before taking injected substances of unknown composition?

  • @timwilliams9100 says:

I have had many skin cancers over my life Started taking Niacinamide since a human study shows it helps to reduce the damage done by the UV light that causes Pre skin cancers by up to 75%my sun block now also has Niacinamide in it. Wondering if Astaxthin would also help since it is supposed to be like a sun block?

  • @ZoomGadget says:

How about lutein? Is that less powerful?

  • @RicardoOliveiraFit says:

I was waiting for this video thanks siim

  • @jarno_art says:

4mg of astaxanthine is alrdy extremely expensive.. let alone 12mg.. which brands do u recommend?

    • @LCASKE says:

Where in the world do you live?

    • @jarno_art says:

      @@LCASKE europe

    • @nancynelson987 says:

Barlowes is quite reasonable, not sure where they ship other than US?

    • @gsomethingsomething2658 says:

I live in England and import most of my supplements, including Astaxanthin, from iHerb in the US. Usually MUCH cheaper than buying within the UK, import taxes are already paid by iHerb in the price, all-round excellent. They often have sales.
The only downside is orders take 7-10 arrive, BUT shipping is actually cheaper than ordering within England… free if over £30.

    • @HvdHaghen says:

I bought 100 gram astaxanthine for €17.56 on Aliexpress. That’s enough for years by any reasonable dose.

  • @Truckngirl says:

I was thinking of trying BioAstin, since it’s grown here in Hawaii and the cost is very reasonable.

    • @workwithamit says:

@@Truckngirl that’s the brand I’ve been using for the last 15 years. Other brands don’t even come close!

  • @workwithamit says:

One of my favourite supplements, I have been taking it for over 15 years. I started off with 4mg and then went to 12mg. You feel the difference at 12 mg.

    It’s a must have!

Also, the brand I use is BioAstin. It’s the best out there.

  • @64fx3p3p says:

Yes, the next drinking game 😉

  • @gungadin164 says:

I think astaxanthin is a worthwhile supplement—but beware! In excessive amounts, there have been attested cases of ED that (as with finasteride) may not reverse even after ceasing supplementation. Consider trying a lower dose, especially if you’re also consuming the pink-fleshed seafood that Siim discusses.

  • @marcell199311 says:

The question is if it blunts muscle hypertrophy from resistance training or not? Has anyone got any idea regarding this?

  • @dakshinamurti says:

siim, does it make sense to use it along ALA (and Glynac) dor a complete antioxidant protection stack (assuming they work in slightly different ways…)I take 8mg/a day astaxanthin and 500mg ALA (but for some reason I dont take it 2 days a week (those that I train in) an that is my second question… shuld I not do my antiox regime on days that I train or merely in the 2 or three hours before and after training? Thanks Siim ps: You all are free to answer if you actually know your stuff.

  • @RamzaBehoulve says:

If gluthathione is involved, then the “problem” here is that we have to assume most people interested by this are already taking Glycin and/or NAC.

SO the real question becomes whether it adds anything worthwhile while already taking the other one (or two) and which combination of the three is best.

Without that information, I don’t think it’s worth adding yet another supplement.

  • @LeekowalskiWalker says:

What brand of shirt is siim always wearing? They are cut nicely.

  • @DarthNoshitam says:

Hey Siim what do you think about L. reuteri? I’m thinking about trying it either as a tablet or homemade yogurt (which has a MUCH higher microbe content), but I’ve heard that it’s maybe not appropriate for people under 45, esp women. I’m a man in my early 30s like you, so I’m not sure what to think.

For that matter, I’ve also heard that for astaxanthin, it may be better to wait until you’re in your 50s-60s bc it is too strong of an antioxidant… but I still want to try it 😂
