@@tash3291 How is she right? Explain it to all of us???
@
Personally, I believe that influencers like the first one encourage unhealthy & toxic standards onto men.
You could argue for him specifically that he doesn’t as no one seems to really take him seriously, but the content like that in general with the whole ‘grind’ mindset for men truly can shape them into mirroring that boderline unhealthy behaviour.
It’s in a similar way to how women can see influencers like the Kardashians change their body shape again & feel influenced to reshape their bodies as well over and over again. That’s how diet culture works.
So the things men like him tend to promote can push men into this unrealistic standard, and what goes hand-in-hand with that? The red pill mindset😭 someone like Tate always promotes a lifestyle similar to the first one shown (Ashton hall) so it can be easy to slip down the alt right pipeline when consuming such extreme content and body standards, rather than learning to deconstruct diet culture and think intuitively. 💗
@tash3291 I can see where you are coming from but I would hesitate to publicly link anyone’s behavior to someone like Andrew Tate. Especially if the first influencer isn’t showing us anything even remotely close to Tate’s vile and reprehensible nature.
@tash3291 I would have liked for her to include that there r very real differences btwn the terms sexist, chauvinist and misogynist even though they r used interchangable.
How, Exactly does anyone look at the first influencer whether they agree with his self-care choices or not and think: “This man could turn into Andrew Tate or make other men turn into Andrew Tate????
@@michaelm.3328did you watch the last 20 secs of the short?
This content is less obviously misogynistic, but is still designed to promote regressive ideas about masculinity, which reinforce the new wave of conservatism we have begun to see among Gen-Z men. Men are placed at the centre of the universe, waited on and served by women who are obedient, submissive and secondary, if they are even considered. However, unlike content from those explicitly advocating for a patriarchal hierarchy, these videos masquerade as something mindlessly benign – giving them, at times, a greater power to disseminate via the implicit message that this is how good, happy, successful men and women act.
@@jessberch7041 In a world of cynical one liners I really appreciate your detailed analysis.
@@jessberch7041well said!!
Or, and I know this is radical, don’t use TikTok.
Perhaps just ignore “influencers” altogether, regardless of their platform.
Live your life and be happy. Don’t worry about what randoms think. They don’t matter.
@@Daniel-Goodfeather Since this has nothing to do with diet culture she had to find a way to make a video on it since its going viral….
@@liberallioness4335he is literally showing his health and wellness routine so yeah of course she’s gonna talk about
This pretty much what my nutritionist taught me, after I showed her the nutrition section of a workout plan. She called it a more confusing version of the Canada Food Guide and began to teach me, that diet culture affects men in a similar way.
Thanks Abby, I always “thought” I had fairly good common sense…but failed to realize I was a product of 50 some years of “harmful diet culture”…there is just so much BAD,Scary BAD information out there…thanks for keeping “well informed” and science backed information coming our way!😘🇨🇦
I’ve seen a few people talking about Ashton lately. He very much so is quietly a misogynist. The women in his videos only serve him. Never speak. Rarely the same women ever, so they are like hired help and nothing else. But its so subtle. And his hustle culture is built around doing nothing but him and his workout and his diet. No one lives like that. He is living the unobtainable life and saying everyone should be able to do this too
💯
I dont think this is anyones favorite influencer, hes popular because we all are rolling our eyes at this guy collectively.
Maybe in your echo chamber but he’s got multi millions of people following him many of who see him as goals
Sleep is so good for you. Why they waking up at 3am it’s literally not a life hack it’s a faster way to shorten your life span! 😅
Thank you for highlighting the detrimental affects of diet culture on men. More people need to discuss this in an intelligent and compassionate manner
Also… if expressing your emotions is difficult and facing difficulty head on is brave and if braveness is a masculine trait then surely being vulnerable and open is also masculine…
Thanks for informing
THANKS for your video!👍Much appreciated ❤❤❤
I could just as easily say content like yours could potentially lead to content scamming subscribers. This is a horrible take imo.
💯 👏 it’s getting scary out here!
It also perpetuates the class warfare. A lot of these influencers have the luxury of 3 hour morning routines. Most people don’t.
So true… my husband was watching these self help fitness channels since he wanted to lose some weight around his stomach and went down the rabbit hole of toxic masculinity videos translated into Spanish that weirded him out! 😅… I said in Spanish “wow dude… you went down the toxic masculinity hole through your workout videos… that’s so weird… he was like yeah it started very slowly that was so odd. Then I sent him a Tyler Cohen video one day regarding the mess our cutting president was leading us in due to his tariff plan so we could prep for our food budget the coming months and he started going down the translated Tyler Cohen rabbit hole and I couldn’t be any more prouder and attracted to my man!😅🎉❤ He still watches fitness videos but is more aware about the toxic masculinity videos that are linked to YouTube threats of certain YouTube influencers who are obviously on steroids …the algorithm is so weird… glad you pointed this out.
I agree, thank you ❤❤
He‘s so cringe 🫣
This is all so crazy. We watched Adolescence…everyone needs to know about this disturbing stuff💥
