I just started medical school so transparency and information communication is even more relevant and interesting to me now

  • Rosa Mystica says:

This is a great piece of critical analysis, Abbey! I totally agree that we MUST be critical consumers of media now more than ever!

  • ingvidkk says:

Hi!! Ik it’s off topic but Im a 14yo girl who is trying to get a better relationship with food and you’ve helped me a ton. Thank you for everything you do❤

  • VM W says:

Excellent rebuttal; interesting that he has no problem making money as an author on nutrition. However as a 50 year dietitian I would caution RDs to not accept industry financed research as gospel.

    • Abbey Sharp says:

No it shouldnt be gospel. they cant fabricate results, but yes it does mean we need to evaluate the methodology a little more critically for sure.

  • Dorit Bergen says:

Abbey, I very much value and appreciate your consistent, transparent messaging. And I support your right to earn a living doing so. Keep it up!!

  • katherine marvel says:

The first thing i do when i’m struggling with disordered eating is put on a abbey sharp vid, i kinda get back into reality when i listen to you. it’s quite clear you do your research and discuss your topic with critical thinking and full transparency, thanks abbey x

  • mariana angelova says:

Thank God there are “female dietitions like you”, Abbey! I feel so much better with myself and with the balanced way of eating you recmmend! I can’t tell you how much struggle I went through within the last 10 years with all kinds of restrictive diets and how happy I am now 🙂 I am even happier that you don’t allow “some guys” to speak nonsense by staying quiet about it :)If there was a three thumbs up option under this vodeo, I would give them to you! ❤

  • Andrew Garza says:

Abby you are my favorite dietician, I started watching your videos over a year ago and I’m so glad you’ve been able to give people a truly transparent Dietician who only wants to help people navigate their relationship with food and health journey thank you.

  • Zoe says:

Abbey, thank you soooo much for addressing this so soon after the article came out. I appreciate you taking the time and making the effort to set the record straight.

  • Jessica Cavanagh says:

As someone who’s studying food and nutrition with the goal of doing my masters in dietetics, watching your content always helps give me motivation to study but also gives me more of an understanding of industry. ❤

  • BMW says:

Great video Abby! I’m a lawyer and you made a great rebuttal to this piece. I’m 47 and you have helped me so much with what I eat. Thanks for all you do!
    ❤🙏

    • Abbey Sharp says:

ohh i love that i got a lawyers approval! MY laywers will be pleased to hear lol 🙂 and also so glad ive helped!

  • Lia Korn says:

Hi Abby. I love all of your stuff and you’ve helped me a lot. Could you do a video about carb cycling and whether it’s appropriate if you exercise a lot? Thank you.

  • Alexandra Byrne says:

Thank you for breaking this down – so informative and helpful

  • Aimee B. says:

The fact that this dude is out peddling bro science nutrition (at best) with no qualifications, then turns on female dietitians like you, honestly makes me so mad!! You have worked very hard to get into a position that allows you to follow a moral compass while doing your job. You did not take shortcuts to the money. I commend you.

  • Madeleine Stirling says:

Super interesting hearing how it all works on your end. Thanks for your transparency. Your nutritional guidance has helped me immensely over the past few years. I am healthier and happier than ever, eating a whole range of plant based and dairy foods, without the fear of what a bowl of ice cream might do to me.

I would much prefer a sponsored, but well researched video, than something lesser you just churn out to stay in our newsfeeds. Keep up the good work!

  • Emily Jolliff says:

I think you are really great, Abbey. Thanks for your work.

  • Perelandra Waddle says:

Hi Abby! Thanks for always being so transparent about partnerships and focused on evidence. You really helped me out when I was navigating nutrition as a vegetarian dance major in university. A lot of nutrition advice for dancers is really disorderly and most meal plans for athletes are just like “eat chicken breasts and green juice”. I really appreciate your nuance and attention to accessibility.

  • Peggy Mahar says:

One of the many reasons I love to watch your videos is that you don’t push an agenda on certain ways of eating. You’re the first RD that I’ve watched that doesn’t apply the terms good or bad foods. You have given myself and others a freedom to choose what foods are right for us by just giving the facts! This has helped me immensely by taking the confusion on what to eat.

  • Citrine42 says:

you have helped me reframe my own inner monologue I have around food. instead of limiting carbs, now I ask how can I include them in a meal; instead of “burning off” calories, I ask myself if I need some extra movement in my day; and I no longer “justify” food choices, instead I just shrug and say to myself I like it. am I a 100% perfect? of course not, but definitely making progress in my own health journey.

  • Kareen Tal says:

Hi Abbey! I wanted thank you for the video! it is so surreal to me how many people on the internet don’t engage in critical thinking and just believe whatever they see online…it’s just sad and clearly it’s hurting those who actually do the work to help others. I also wanted to thank you for being so professional, ever since I started watching your videos I’ve been a lot more mindful with my eating. It’s not perfect, but it’s definitely on the right track 🙂
