Been trying ray peat stuff but I’m in too much pain that gets worse as I keep consuming sugar and my gut doesn’t process starches without making me sick either T_T

Thanks for another great video Siim. Particularly interested in the thyroid part. I think it’s overlooked alot. I don’t think a lot of people get enough iodine or magnesium nowadays. I believe mainly because people are opting for healthy salts which do not come iodized like regular salt. And I find myself supplementing with a magnesium that is 3 different amino bonds as well as the magtein version for the brain.

Hey man, just a heads-up—love your content, but this thumbnail is giving off the wrong vibes. Between the candy and the park setting, it’s coming across way creepier than you probably intended. You might wanna swap it out before the comment section turns on you. Just looking out

How much carbs is best to eat for optimal thyroid (percent of diet or grams)? What is the optimal amt of carb, pro, fat?

    • @Mr.MediumMustacheMan says:

Metrics like that are going to be very bio-individualistic.

    • @antoinedebruit6140 says:

Honestly you need 0 carb, none. I would suggest you research the carnivore diet which is the best diet for any human. Then you’ll decide for yourself

    • @summersalix says:

@@antoinedebruit6140 ive been on it, and it has its merits but my thyroid tanked, and so I’ve been animal based, but still having issues.

  • @Mr.MediumMustacheMan says:

I did a 7 day sugar fast. Its been a lottle over a week since i started eating normal but i have noticed that my metabolism is much higher now and i eat more carbs on the day now.

👍👍 Makes perfect sense. Thanks, Siim.

  • @Aizen402 says:

another one that i recently implemented is to take a 15-20 min walk after a big meal. Never thought it would make a big difference but it does, and I already do everything that has been mentioned in this video. Test it out!

Siim, So, we shouldn’t young people “sit still!” but instead we should tell them, “keep moving!” The thought of my husband and I (in our late 50s) running around our house like children made us laugh out loud. 😄 Your videos are awesome… so jam-packed with useful, helpful tips. 👍Thank you.

Love your content Siim but i would add two things on the keto/low carb topic 1) surely you dont need carbs to spike insulin enough to stimulate Thyroid function, you can spike it by even drinking Whey protein every now and then or just the right fibres. Or increase your selenium to increase rate of T4 to T3. I do agree though the thyroid would likely eventually downgrade metabolic rate slightly on Ketogenic diets 2) but does that actually matter? Its because ketosis has a more efficient energy utilisation anyway, surely longevity isnt about upping how many calories you can eat in a day, its about having a healthy metabolism given what you eat.
Telling people they need to up their carbs to increase resting metabolic rate only makes sense for metabolically healthy carb eaters, most people are not that 😅 Your advice makes sense up to that point but i just thought some context is needed on the last point, bc people may even benefit more from improved fat oxidation pathways activation on keto diets that more than makes up for any requirements on how much you need to scoff daily on carbs 😊

Hi Siim! Quick question! I run 3 times a week — a mix of zone 3 runs, intervals in zone 4-5, and long runs in zone 2 — and I also do some strength training in between. You mentioned that you eat most of your carbs after your training, but I usually like to fuel my run with carbs (no crazy amounts, just around 50-60g). Do you think I would benefit more from eating most of my carbs after instead?
