Overweight people as soon as they enter a grocery store (according to her): “Well, this is gonna take a while, but I’ll do what must be done…”
Haha😂
This is literally just a “how to” for an eating disorder
“Food is always optional” also sounds like such a privileged take…is she aware that there are indeed heigher-weight people who do still worry about food insecurity and having to go without? That being able to eat is a life or death matter?
I’ve never been overweight and have been called “skinny” for much of my life. Food has never been optional. When I’m hungry, I eat. When I’m not hungry but want food, I eat. When food is presented and I feel like eating it, I eat it.
What a weird shaming way to frame intuitive eating. I get what she was trying to say, but the delivery was very harmful.
Ahem, as a “fat “ girly, who is 55, Damn has that been my problem all my life? I thought food was to help fuel us. 🤦♀️
In some ways I get what she’s saying though because when I was skinnier I wasn’t so worried about missing a meal and now that I’m obese a big part of it is because I am afraid I’ll get anxious if I don’t eat at particular times or the right amount so I eat even when I’m not hungry just so I don’t get hungry later.
I’m fat too and I don’t relate to her nor understand her… I restrict more than my skinny friends. See, she made this thing called blanket statement about an already marginalized group of people so don’t go defending her…
I am on ozempic and have very little to no appetite most of the time now but I still try to eat something when it’s a normal meal time. Whether it’s a piece of fruit or a protein shake I get as many calories as I can get down. I make meals even when I’m not that hungry and eat until I am full. I still snack occasionally and I have been losing weight too. We all need food no matter the body we live in.
Well, stupidity is optional, too, but it seems to be a very popular option these days😂
That was such a bad take I honestly felt my jaw drop. Can’t believe anyone would feel that way…and then say it out loud.
As a person who’s recovering from anorexia I had to re learn that food isn’t optional after I almost died.
I’m only now starting to find a balance where I can actually feel my hunger and fullness cues and follow them, after over a year (including 8 months inpatient)!
So this kind of insanely dangerous advice, being presented as a healthy way to lose weight is alarming.
Proud of you!
You’re working hard and it’s not easy.
I hope you’re doing better ❤ !!
Hugs
This woman has never been insulin resistant and it shows. Overall, I think there is so much misconception about all things nutrition. I know I know very little other than what I need to do with my body. Diet culture hasn’t helped anything either. 😢
I always eat my 3 meals and 2 snacks, even when I’m not hungry because eventually I will get hungry later in the day and I would probably eat garbage because my body desperately needs quick fuel
I’m really overweight & don’t get hungry or eat until 3or 4 pm. Sometimes even if I’m hungry, i still won’t eat. As a former anorexic, i certainly know portion size & calories. I’ve also ruined my metabolism & so have autoimmune disorders, thyroid disease & cancer didn’t help either.
So, i call BS on her video
My best friend eats 24/7 and horrible food (by my standards) i am over weight and I eat like a bird, i am rarely hungry. I have to force myself to eat.
We both are the exact opposite . She can’t gsin weight no matter what she does, weight loss has been the same for over 30yrs.
I’m just now getting a better relationship with food
I gained a lot of weight from medication and trauma
I’m doing better and losing weight slowly
I think she meant intutive eating. Yet said it wrongly It helped me lose 20kg, by listening to myself. Sometimes I just did not have apetite but I always allowed myself to eat even “unhealthy” foods. My mom always does this and I adore it. She said just because food is left does not mean I have to eat it, she said I am not a trashcan to eat it to clean it up. Nowadays I can really listen to my body, thank you, mom❤ with all that being said food is not optinail
Does’nt matter what you think she meant… she made a fatphobic blanket statement…
Thank you.
I was waiting for skinny tiktok coach to mention food being optional was healthy
Can she then explain why it is that I’m rarely hungry and certainly don’t eat as soon as I wake up because I’m simply not hungry, and I’m still considered obese. If a person were to go by the typical thought of simply having a calorie deficit, there is no reason I’m not super skinny as I’ve never been a big eater. I really hate how skinny people look at me and automatically think I over indulge when that is so not the case.
