It’s not about wellness culture, it’s about the rights of non-human animals to not be exploited or killed. Is it restrictive or wellness culture-y not to eat babies or drink the milk of enslaved women? Focus on the victims

    • @ff-pw8yw says:

Yeah, 100%, not only that but the implication that a plant based diet cant have an adecuate amoun of protein. Just straight up missinformation and Abbey doesnt say anything, smh.

    • @KaitlinHopson says:

The matter of the fact is meat will always be better protein than plants will. It’s an animal. As long as you’re going to good butcher shops that actually care for the animal then it’s not abuse. If humans didn’t eat animals they’d take over the planet. Stop acting like we’re killing actual human babies and crap. Your comparison sucks. These animals aren’t slaves. 🙄

    • @Lav3nd3r0h says:

      @@KaitlinHopson that’s just not true.

    • @Allday88 says:

sounds like somebody needs to go hug a tree

    • @MakaykayLAMB says:

This comment makes no sense. Lizzo said she was a FORMER vegan who added protein to her diet and Abbey brought attention to the fact that you don’t have to announce the ways that you used to eat or find a label for it. She didn’t say anything as wrong with veganism. No one said that at all. And no one said you couldn’t get protein from sources other than meat. Are y’all just choosing to half-listen and leave comments based on how you feel?

  • @threecrayonswriting says:

“Who added protein to her diet”. My favorite omni excuse.

  • @RSalem221 says:

Quick question out of curiosity, how much money do you make from being paid off by the food industry?

  • @fruitoftheforest7361 says:

I hope she can be a former fad dieter who added carbs to her diet one day

    • @kiwiequis4144 says:

Lowering carbs can actually benefit many people, you don’t have to go keto to see the benefits of it.

Especially lowering all carbs and taking in most or all complex carbs rather than simple carbs.

  • @slavashelton598 says:

can you please explain affects of processed meats good/bad and added chemical preservatives to those meats

    • @sunnygirl5467 says:

Not a lot to explain, processed meat is scientifically proven to be carcinogenic…you should look into the recommendations by the FDA or guidelines for your country.😬

  • @Yunior-fp3is says:

    Good for Lizzo!

  • @javadivawithdog says:

AND. Lizzo can do what she wants ❤❤❤

  • @jann5414 says:

“Added protein to her diet” is not accurate, you can have protein as a vegan. She should have said it differently

  • @sunnygirl5467 says:

This is a really weird video Abbey, she talked a lot of nonsense in her video, like “aspiring to be alcaline vegan one day” and “adding protein” is also inaccurate, since she just added animal products which is not interchangeble with protein🙄 it’s also not “diet culture” that she disclaimed to be former vegan, since she has many followers who know her as someone who often talked about eating vegan and who would be wondering if she’s not vegan anymore, which is understandable since she always does WIEIADs😒 You always seem to celebrate people for eating tons of meat, eggs and dairy and in your words “prioritising protein”, when you should know as a professional who claims to be SO GOOD at reading scientific papers that increasing PLANT protein (i.e. fiber, minerals, vitamins, phytonutrients) is healthpromoting, NOT eating even more saturated fat and cholestrol aka animal protein🙄😮‍💨 you are very disingenious and seem biased, since you yourself cannot seem to make a step towards a diet low in animal products which is PROVEN to be more healthpromoting! Dissapointing🥴

    • @LulaMae21 says:

She’s talked plenty about the benefits of plant-based proteins. You must be new. Perhaps a vegan channel would be more your speed.

    • @sunnygirl5467 says:

@@LulaMae21 I’ve been a subscriber for years, she talks and has talked very little and not really serious about the benefits of plant protein and that you should try to sub it in as much as possible, she does talk about fiber a lot, but in all of her cooking videos or suggested meals there’s always cheese, meat, eggs or other dairy which should not be included in EVERY meal😬

  • @JChan-ru2hf says:

Then she wasn’t vegan. We’re vegan for the animals. She can call herself plant based.

    • @eco_aquamarine3455 says:

@@JChan-ru2hf I hate when people say this cuz it really just pushes people away from ever being anywhere close to vegan or wanting to go back or even associate themselves with the word vegan. The way some vegans are so perfectly OK with isolating and basically turning away potential allies/future vegans to their cause is crazy. This is why people don’t like us. Like, okay, they’re not vegan, you want them to start eating meat again or something? You aren’t furthering the cause, you’re hindering it and adding to the idea that vegans have a severe superiority complex

    • @eco_aquamarine3455 says:

@@JChan-ru2hf in your pursuit of perfection, you chase away people who might actually support your ideas.

  • @CrazyClara101 says:

Lizzo’s body and diet is under more scrutiny than her abusive treatment of her backup dancers

  • @kelliezee says:

The angry vegans in this comment section are too funny. Many people still refer to meat as just “protein” and being obtuse for semantics doesn’t help your cause. You knew what they meant and got mad they didn’t use the proper wording for you when most people in a regular conversation would understand what they meant. If you want to explain how to get protein on a vegan diet you can do that without being combative. If you want to explain how it’s incorrect & harmful to refer to meat as just “protein” you can do that without taking your vegan rage out on someone.
