I would love to see your thoughts on Jubilee’s newest middle ground ‘Fat vs. skinny?’ I felt that the episode had a lot of classic toxic diet culture assumptions and some ED tendencies.

  • Sarah de Marrero says:

Glad you touched on the six pack abs for women! I’m a postpartum fitness specialist and find this to be a common goal. I also think it’s important to note that the length of a woman’s torso plays a large part in whether or not she will be able to have a perfectly flat stomach. MANY of these influencers are also taking PEDs and hiding said fact from their audiences so they can sell programs.

    • WicklaWalker says:

Aesthetics’s are not an indication of health ❤

    • Abbey Sharp says:

Oh for sure. Thanks for your input Sarah!

    • Noshin Griseo says:

      Sorry, what are PEDs?

    • Aimee Morgado says:

Old(over 60) ballerina here. I had a ballet teacher who always said women should have a “teacup” below the belly button. She was a brilliant woman who encouraged health over appearance. She was a very rare ballet master who wanted her students to be successful humans, not unnecessarily impossibly stick thin “types”. I never had the best “ body type “ for classical ballet, and struggled to get work and make a way for myself. As a very mature adult I discovered I do have a great body type for Transnational Dance ( Fusion of Oriental, hip hop, jazz, modern, Flaminco). That is- NOPerfect type, but plenty of passion and joy.

    • P C says:

I just started training with a personal trainer and she put me on a 1300 calorie diet. I do strength training 3 times a week now. She tells me I shouldn’t eat more eventhough I often feel weak during my workouts. I don’t know who to believe anymore😩

  • Craig Jeffries says:

I love this! It has to be frustrating for RDs who go to school for years to see all this misinformation out there by people who have no formal education in nutrition.

  • Pao Sefian says:

I always wanted to know what you thought about the recent study on aspartame in the summer. So thank you for addressing it.

Also covering the six pack thing for women I think is so important . I currently have a 4 pack for the first time in my life but I’m not getting my period & it happened after being on a low to zero fat diet and physically over trained.

  • Lalaland911 says:

I will NEVER understand the oatmeal hate. Wild how these influencers don’t want to confront their ED’s and instead choose to crucify nutritious low cost options

    • Abbey Sharp says:

      This!!

    • MollieAnne says:

      Exactly!

    • Evan Quiñones says:

I’ve been having Oatmeal almost every day since my weight loss 3 years ago, still been able to lose fat and gain muscle (I talk about it in my weight loss story video). I don’t get the hate either. Lol

    • Paula Christie says:

      @Evan Quiñones Exactly.

    • 𝐵𝑒𝑙𝑙𝑒𝑛𝑒 says:

+ oats are soooooo DELICIOUS 🤤 I have mine savory, I toast the dry oats in olive oil until they get a nutty brown color and beautiful aroma; then simmer in chicken or mushroom broth with some garlic, thyme, pomegranate molasses, maybe shredded tuna or chicken or crumpled cheese; then some blanched carrots and green peas. super satisfying lunch/breakfast/dinner/whatever and so hearty. 😍

  • Anya Roz says:

Abbey, this was a great video! Thank you! And not only for the well put together information, but also for being brave to take on the influencers!

  • Holly Winchell says:

I love how Abbey always provides sound nutritional and scientific information along with a good dose of dry humor. Her hand-drawn “6 pack” taped to her sweater had me rolling. 🤣

  • Melann says:

I love my protein oatmeal with Frozen blueberries, almond butter and bananas. It keeps me full for hours and no blood sugar issues. Plus, I love the taste

  • Jen Finds Fulfillment says:

Thank you for squashing the oatmeal hate. I reversed pre-diabetes with the food I consumed and getting more movement in. I ate oats with protein powder and cia seeds a lot

  • Terri Chalnick says:

    Thank you, Abbey,
I’m always checking EWG and I try to buy organic from their list but the cost of food is so crazy that I can’t afford it all the time. It gives me a lot of stress!!

  • Sally Rice says:

That pesticide segment was the sequel to the hungry caterpillar 🐛 😂 “200 million peaches, 2 thousand acres of kale…”

  • Jes Hightower says:

I eat overnight oats every single morning and I always feel great and it holds me over until lunch and sometimes later. I put a tiny amount of chocolate chips, agave, cinnamon and some protein powder! It’s so yummy. Thank you for saying they are okay! I will never stop because it helps me and my fiber intake… and also it’s apart of my morning routine ❤

  • Rick F says:

Thank you for the reality check! Some nutrition-health-fitness influencers are just walking/talking advertisements always suggesting you follow their link to one product or another. Very annoying at times.

  • Pringles says:

Your videos always help me regulate my thinking about food and nutrition, which is amazing considering the kind of content that comes up on my feed. Thank you for another amazing video!

  • Ali B says:

I’ll join the oatmeal love. I had upper jaw surgery two months ago and I had to be on a soft/mushy, high protein diet to help in healing and because I couldn’t really chew. Pretty much every morning I have been eating oatmeal with hemp hearts, flax seed, and cottage cheese for the bulk and then sweetened it with this pumpkin spice mix I made from canned pumpkin, spices, and syrup. Was delicious, kept me full, and had a bunch of good stuff in it. Also, thanks for the AG1 information. I ended up stopping my subscription because it was just too expensive and felt like I was doing a disservice for myself.

  • judi&cat says:

THANK YOU! My dietician ❤’s you too. I’ve been working with her for about a year, I have a resected bowel and IBS. Oatmeal is my breakfast, every day, either Abbey’s High Protein Oatmeal 🎉, or overnight oats. I removed added sugars from my diet, but still eat lots of fruit and some flavoured yogurt. And guess what? My A1c decreased! So BOO HISS to all the oats haters out there, I’m not listening! 😅

  • kate breck says:

YES ABBEY SLAY. Love the to the point, fast, no bs approach! Thats whats most effective in my opinion. No faffing about, people have short attention and it also asserts your dominance 😂

  • Jill Frezza says:

This was fantastic! So informative! With so much misinformation out there, thanks for setting the record straight. And for adding a little humor to your videos

  • Rachel Catlin says:

Great video Abbey! I’d love to see a video/break down on Tim Spector/Zoe. Obvs gut health/blood sugar is a huge buzz word in the health community at the moment so would be really cool to have a break down of all of the claims from a neutral source like yourself!

  • Marcie Robinson says:

Hey Abbey, thanks for making sense and working to calm the fears that others slap onto normal foods that benefit humans. I love my oatmeal but I do sprouted oatmeal and bread for myself. I understand they’re supposed to be less processed but I’m wondering what your take on sprouted grains is.
