Hey everyone I’m Abbey Sharp welcome to Abbey’s Kitchen. Today, we’re channeling our inner Regina George as we dive into the notorious wellness myths spread by influencers who belong in the Dietitian Burn Book. 🔥📚 From baseless claims to harmful advice, some of these grifters just won’t quit—like Gretchen Wieners trying to make fetch happen! While I might get a little sassy, my goal is to educate and empower. 💖 Let’s hold these repeat offenders accountable for their actions and show that misinformation isn’t just “so last season.”

Lol could’ve used a turn your sound down warning for the start of this one 😂😂😂

  • @wjtrack says:

You posted this on Oct 3rd!! Perfect!!!

  • @Hallo35-z9r says:

Very clever idea haha! Would love a pt 2

  • @123Annie says:

ohh this was soo fun, Abbey!! I hope you do a Part 2 & beyond!! What about investigating the vegan gurus who promote SOFAS-free also (sugar, oil, flour, alcohol & salt)? I tried that for awhile and it just was too tough for my sanity plus there must be easier, more common sense ways to be healthy at a healthy weight. Anyway, thank-you for all your time and effort with your fun presentation today– researched-based but very common-sense approach!! And you look so pretty in the pale peach toned top with gold jewelry!! ♥

  • @leaf.n1nja says:

Yess to a part 2! There are so many influencers I’ve seen that dont rlly get called our for what they’re promoting 🙏

  • @ValerieMeirose says:

Thank you SO much for your work Abbey. No wonder people (myself included) get so confused with all the dangerous rhetoric out there. Thank you for the nuance – it’s ok to address the problems, and not demonize people, but show them empathy as victims of diet culture and sensationalism.

  • @victorbasiy3489 says:

Absolutely agree with everything Abbey said. We need to do better, to protect our future generations from misleading content that can and/or actually causes ED. Bravo Abbey, for being the best nutritionist on YouTube ever!

  • @RM-mu3tl says:

Omg finally someone calls out Bobby flav I was spending so much more on groceries and was anxious about every single thing put in my body.

    • @karynstouffer3562 says:

Yeah, I unsubscribed months ago. Got tired of him demonizing everything he didn’t have a financial interest in. Way too elitist.

  • @saville374 says:

A second burn book could include Freelee and maybe if you expanded, you could have a burn book for specific trends like mukbangs, specific diets. raw milk, etc.

  • @Genin99 says:

To give my nutritionist an example of an okay nutrition lesson, I brought in a workout plan, done by a fitness influencer called Paris Demers. My nutritionist had a lot of things to teach me, the moment she read it.

For example being a muscular man is not the same as being healthy.

  • @alisaishere says:

Not only do you need to do a part two, but what video sharing some good examples of who people should follow (besides you, duh). For example, I discovered Food Science Babe when I joined a “Banned by Food Babe” facebook group, and now I love Erin and her myth busting.

    • @dan-qe1tb says:

Nutrition Made Simple, Brad Stanfield, and Mario Kratz are good. They’re doctors and not dieticians, but cover many food related topics, and do their best to put things in plain language. I had presented some other names of folks I don’t like, in my post above. I’m someone who has been taken maths and sciences at the university level, who knows his way around a food plant. Some of the ideas presented by unskilled people on here are pretty silly, like the anti “seed oil” lunatic fringe, and their idea that the more machines a food passes through, the more of its nutritional value is lost, so we’re better off eating butter and beef, which, no doubt, come straight from a farm. Abby Langer was even meaner to Flav City than the other two. And Farm Babe. I think North America needs regulation in food labelling; the marketing people will say anything to sell a product. Look at all the labels that say “gluten free”, on foods that never contained any to begin with. Every two years, there’s another “bad” ingredient or practice that we all need to avoid. Now, we have, “antibiotic free”: like there would be any trace of that left after the meat is cooked. People like Bobby simply don’t know any better and think this stuff is for real. He doesn’t understand that products aren’t better for you by default just because they’re “natural”. Your organs don’t know the difference between honey, high fructose corn syrup and sucrose. The general public doesn’t know what the terms “organic”, “pasture raised”, and “GMO” really mean.

  • @nataliacarrillo7917 says:

The amount of applicable mean girls references here is impressive 😂

  • @lmbk3294 says:

So true on Bobby! His poor daughter is being set up for some serious issues

  • @LauraPerez-g3p says:

Somebody needs to tell Bobby that the FDA released a study in 2022 which found that organic fruit and vegetables aren’t much better than non-organic. Organic vegetables and fruits are also exposed to pesticides, only natural pesticides. The study found that organic food isn’t really worth the extra cost and that everyone eating only organic foods is unsustainable.

  • @themagicknightress7132 says:

My mom was telling me the other day that one of her colleagues was trying to lose weight and her 6 year old daughter was “keeping her accountable” and would refuse dessert unless it was on a Tuesday or Thursday.

  • @jac_dan_mcl says:

I appreciate how much you committed to the Mean Girls bit😂😂

  • @plantaetivoli1178 says:

I luv you girl🥰 Second every word always! As a 60 yr old struggling with ED since 4 yeras old 🙁 I appreciate your plataform and everything you address.🙌👃

  • @yasminecoad4799 says:
