I will never understand why a non-diabetic would be worried about glucose levels. Your pancreas works fine.

    • @user-uw5ps6nr8g says:

Unless you’re a diabetic, even then, you can still have something sweet, just not as much as usual people do

    • @artbya613 says:

But one may be harming it if they don’t treat their body right, ie continuous glucose spikes all day long.

    • @dianawardrip5171 says:

People become diabetic by eating foods throughout their life that causes glucose spikes. Eventuall6 your pancreas wears out and your body no longer responds to your insulin. Everyone’s blood sugar spikes after eating something sweet, even if you are not diabetic. Glucose Goddess advice of drinking vinegar in water or eating raw veggies can mute the spikes, you will feel better and you won’t become insensitive to your insulin. A couple of weeks ago Abby talked about eating a plate of veggies while you are cooking prior to eating. She got her info from Glucose Goddess, but didn’t mention tha5 fact.

    • @AbbeysKitchen says:

Blood sugar balance can help with energy levels, satiety and mood, even if you’re non-diabetic. Less of a concern for sure, but can be worth considering

    • @mandymk6862 says:

@AbbeysKitchen  as type 2 who is constantly worrying about glucose levels (while using a CGM) i guess I just cant wrap my head around willingly putting yourself through all that.

  • @JenniferRose23 says:

💙Abbey I can’t wait to watch you react to this! I’ve watched her content before so I’m curious to see your reaction haha. I’m recovering from hypothalamic amenorrhea and your channel is a very GOOD influence on me💙I have to remind myself to watch people like you who help those of us like me who are in recovery/healing themselves✨I love you keep doing what you do!!! (You’ve also introduced me to built bars which I love!!)

  • @jesssealey6552 says:

If I may, I’d like to request video on protein and fibre types and how they effect the body along with how they work together and recipes that maximise their effectiveness for gut health and weight management/building lean muscle. Thank you.

    I’m going to admit it:

I get a little discouraged when I see Canadian YouTubers being sponsored by companies that don’t ship to Canada. It feels like false advertising, especially without disclaiming that they don’t ship to Canada.

  • @artbya613 says:

God helped me come across Jessie’s videos. I started incorporating her glucose spike hacks into my life about 2 weeks ago and my eczema has not flared up! Not a common occurrence for me recently. Thank You God for helping me through Jessie’s videos!❤

  • @acavell1980 says:

Thank you for all of this great information! After all of these years with Type 2 diabetes, I’m still amazed at what a 30 minute walk after a meal does to lower my blood sugars.

  • @karynstouffer3562 says:

I have insulin resistance. I have PCOS. I’m pre-diabetic. Jessie’s advice has helped me get started on my journey to getting my glucose levels under control.
So, thank you for not cherry picking only those things that you disagree with, and dismissing her out of hand. She does say a lot of good things, that are helpful, but the general population doesn’t need to follow her religiously.

    • @AbbeysKitchen says:

      Of course!! ❤

    • @artsysolanki says:

Completely agree. Pre diabetic here too and got diagnosed with gestational diabetes and had to go on insulin to manage it. Jesses advice helped me to manage it with low amount of insulin and now that I have given birth I am trying to not develop a type 2 diabetes. However, the anti spike pill doesn’t make sense to me at this moment and also doesn’t ship to my country so I can take her advice and get benefits from it.

  • @tquirkyt7118 says:

❤ everything the Glucose Goddess talks about is based in science. But the reason I love her videos, books and message is that she’s not giving out crazy recommendations… Everything is built on logic and she understands how people’s lives work and days change, and she gives great advice as to how you can work with all of these guidelines and just incorporate small changes with impactful results. She doesn’t recommend parsing your salad part by part and eat each individual item by itself, and says that would be crazy✨… She does not say that.

  • @Ian-io3yt says:

    Great video, thanks

  • @Leo-mr1qz says:

I love the doggie in the background for the first couple of clips. 🐕 Too cute❣️

  • @user-il9tx9di4b says:

    Thank U!

  • @rosamoreno4794 says:

Glucose Goddess worked for me! Started about a month ago and I saw change. I make all my meals with protein, vegetables, and a carb some fats or snack on healthy fats. I started having one serving size of veggies before meals and cut all my cravings and I truly remained full and satisfied. It worked for me.

  • @danielafrancomontoya5834 says:

Even if the glucose goddess makes recommendations based in body science, she clearly is missing the social science factor. We don’t eat the broccoli first, the chicken second, the oil on its own, and then the sad rice. That to me is total nonsense. The best recommendation is to have a balanced diet (as has always been said) and that is it. You can definitely include certain recommendations but I think some things are getting out of hand.

  • @emoonae says:

I ❤️ cinnamon! Not to increase insulin sensitivity, but just because it is objectively the best spice, and I will fight anyone who says otherwise. 😂

  • @anitamiko9975 says:

Much needed video. Admittedly, I’m kind of into these glucose dampening hacks…and can’t quite articulate WHY lol I think a video about WHY one would do these hacks would be useful, is it for weight loss or just for people trying to manage or avoid diabetes

  • @kaileegirl1785 says:

Thank you!! I have been waiting for this video to come out.

  • @user-strength10 says:

Glade to see you doing these interactive vid’s again, afterall i wouldn’t mind a few recipes from abby’s kitchen 😎 (how’d the protein receipe turnout anyway? lol) the eat like a king at breakfast and a prince at lunch works perfect, regarding other meals i’ll eat depending on the training

  • @mockingbirdnightingale7169 says:

My take away from this video is to eat like the Mediterranean cultures do. Small breakfast, big lunch, tiny dinner, long walk after meals, lots of fiber & olive oil, etc. Luckily for me I live in Greece so I should be able to pull it off.

  • @piroskamaga9351 says:

I had gestational diabetes and what always always worked for me was a 10 minute fast walk after eating, protein and fiber and a lot of peanuts together with sugary/starchy stuff if I craved something sweet 😂
