Honestly, if my husband had taken me to a grocery store and geeked out on food during our first date, I would have swooned! It would have been a major green flag for me. Like, yes… this man will be my bestie. πŸ˜‚

  • @ChristCordogan says:

I’ve recently started begging my Costco in Pleasant Prairie Wisconsin to please start stocking tofu. Costco frozen organic veggies is why I invested in a small chest freezer.

    • @dustyoldhat says:

They’ll be like “what is that, some kind of cheese, right?”

    • @libbyreed8588 says:

Keep hounding them about the tofu. Eventually they’ll hear you. Email them at corporate praising your specific store and put in your request for your preferred items. Keep mentioning it at ground level as well. They promote from within.

The best parts of your videos are your comedic bits and Crystal’s giggles!! πŸ€— Always feel better after watching you both. 🩡

I didn’t realize Costco did so much organic and vegan stuff! I’ll have to take my time next time I go and go down all the aisles properly. Having said that , I live in England so maybe we don’t have it all. I always buy those amazing dates though, and the frozen organic blueberries. We have organic courgettes too which are delicious, and I get my ground flaxseed, chia and hemp from there too. Also. organic tinned tomatoes by the case! I’m Italian, we use a lot of tinned tomatoes! That pasta brand you showed us, Garofalo, is a very good and usually quite expensive. I also always get the big bag of vacuum packed beetroots for salads and just snacking on! And a big bottle of Maple syrup, that lasts me ages because I only use it as a treat! Thanks guys for a great vlog, as always!😊😊

GAH, I LOVE this video! Love the random, spontaneous laughs, observations and foodie info. More vlogs like this please! β€πŸ˜‚πŸ˜…

  • @ChimzDesign says:

Most of the fruits and veggies in our local Costo in Miami are organic as well as the peanut butter. I also get my raw cashews in costco. It’s the best deal and i make milk and sauces out of them. So good ❀

Crystals laugh is so contagious lol you can really tell she loves you. Best couple ever. I love you Simnett Nooch

Some of the most genuinely wholesome content around

  • @gracehall9199 says:

Wow! Tofu? I bet it’s way cheaper than regular stores. I need to renew my Costco card. You should definitely be sponsored for promoting Costco. ❀ Thanks for sharing.

  • @Avery_4272 says:

As always, a fun and informative video – thanks Derek and Crystal! And I didn’t realize how many great organic/vegan items Costco now has.

  • @JohnGiasi says:

Completely agree on “grabbing when supply is low” and in this case you shouldn’t worry long! Costco labels discontinued items with a “death star” * on the price tag also manager clearances usually drop to ending in x.88, the Japanese BBQ is still x.99 (and there are pallets of stuff at mine, albeit Im near Boston so YMMV)! Great video seeing how much your shopping cart aligns with ours here!

  • @astonuk9403 says:

I think that is a great idea for a first date. Be good to compare shopping trolleys on a first date and then do a recipe afterwards to see whom was best.

  • @markbloyd9852 says:

I started out pretty disappointed with the selection at Costco, but have been finding more and more things to get through videos like this. Thanks for sharing, I actually found a few more good things to get there from this. PS – I was thinking the same thing with the plastic.

  • @KennyPaulSmith says:

I like all the “hidden gems” you’ve found at CCo. I so often roll through the store quickly, get the fe things I like, and don’t seriously consider that there might be other vegan-friendly foods there. so love these vids. please keep making them!!!

  • @lunalucid says:

Watching from Europe and I love the big packaging sizes, especially of fruits and veggies! They’re way smaller where I live.
Like, last time I bought that amount of ginger in a normal supermarket the cashier stopped, gave me a stern look and said “That’s a lot of ginger! Are you aware that just as with all spices eating too much of it is dangerous?”
After a couple of seconds of baffled silence I was like “Are you aware that the guy who was in line in front of me just bought 5 kgs of minced meat, 2 bottles of vodka, 3 six-packs of beer and cigarettes and you didn’t raise any concerns?”
They then thought for a moment, shrugged and continued to scan my stuff. πŸ˜‚

Perfect video for me – I haven’t been to Costco in a long time, but just switched to WFPB a couple months ago, and was wondering what they have there these days.
Here’s a tip to help greens (and everything else) last longer – when you get some out of the box (or bag), use clean dry stainless tongs. I follow a rule that anything going back into the fridge must never touch my hands, the counter, or anything else. Everything lasts WAY LONGER with so much less food waste and fewer trips to the store. According to Project Drawdown analysis, reducing food waste is the #1 MOST impactful strategy to combat climate change!

  • @kirstennielsen5832 says:

We love Costco for our vegan staples! Those sprouted oats are bomb! We also get Kirkland raw cashews, maple syrup, frozen mango, & pistachios. Funny what you said about purple leaves in the spring mix, I’ve noticed that too! We just eat huuuge salads every day to eat up the greens as fast as possible lol

    • @HidingFromFate says:

I just grabbed 4 bags of the oatmeal today as Costco has a 7 day ad running with $3 off “coupon”. Best by date shown on the bags is about a year.

I probably should have grabbed more as I’ve never seen this oatmeal discounted here before. I probably go through a bag every couple months.

  • @Samanthaslsmith says:

Fyi: the greasy spot isnt from the Hippies. I worked for Costco 18years, and that is where someone set their sample cup instead of the trash. Saw it a thousand times. Hippes are good; You two are great! 😊

  • @abigailmorse4185 says:

I love how helpful you guys are. I only went plant based a week ago! Our Costco didn’t have the canned beans either. I wonder what’s going on… Also, frozen veggies are often better than fresh because they are flash frozen so they maintain their nutrients a lot better than having fresh veggies and fruit sitting in the fridge for like a week.
