I love so much your attitude, because you always try to find something positive to say about all “what I eat in a day” videos! Thank you for all the knowledge you put out there! <3

  • Milou • says:

What I’ve noticed with Sanne’s diet is that it has changed a lot the last two years. Not only is it more plant based (which is great, of course), but she also seems to eat way less carbs. In one of her first videos she ate oats with fruits, banana and peanut butter for breakfast, avocado toast with eggs for lunch, also a snack I believe and curry for dinner. It seemed way less ‘fancy’ and also way less expensive and more carb focused. Always curious way she changed her eating habits, because it was both healthy and she looked the same. Not a fan of the more fancy and expensive way of eating tbh.

    • Abbey Sharp says:

      Milou – 👍🏼👍🏼

    • Maximilian Strasse says:

Shes getting older, thats why she HAS to change her nutrition…

    • Milou • says:

@Maximilian Strasse But does it have to be that drastic and in such an expensive and fancy way? I don’t believe we need to eat such expensive foods to age gracefully. BUT I do hope you’re right about the reason and that it’s not because she deprives herself from certain foods nowadays.

    • Maximilian Strasse says:

@Milou • No it doesnt has to be that expensive, I think its a lot of advertisment (all those supplements she uses daily).

I meant shes eating less carbs/calories/smaller portions because of her age to stay the same shape while getting older (which doesnt mean that women in their Mid-20s are old etc but when you have the chance to earn such a amount of money mostly because of your look/body, you have to put much more effort into it/everthing has to be perfect all the time, where a few years can make a huge difference)
I hope you get the point, im German/English is not my mothertongue…

    • Milou • says:

@Maximilian Strasse No I understand! You make a valid point. 🙂

  • Jenkittypaw says:

I actually follow Sanne because she has such a lovely personality. I can say she eats a variety of things and even sometimes adds an egg to oatmeal in the morning and salmon for dinner. She tries a lot of different things but tries to make sure her meals are still balanced. She definitely has a sweet tooth which I can relate to 😂

  • Kat Petersdorf says:

I read & seen a lot of Victoria Secret models talk about having extremely strick rules of eating they have to follow, including doing a specific number of fastings & “detoxing” to maintain a bloat-free perfect body. Including a few models who’ve spoken out about not being allowed to eat or drink even water the day of a show or shoot to avoid any bloating.

    • Abbey Sharp says:

Katherine Petersorf definitely a lot of food issues in that industry

    • Natalie Bolt says:

Katherine Petersorf None of them have said they weren’t allowed to eat or drink on the day of the show. Adriana Lima specifically said that she stops drinking water a week before the show and only drinks shakes leading up to it. That’s one individual (and definitely not recommended) not all. Romee Strijd also has videos on how she works out and eats leading up to the show and I’d say it’s pretty balanced. I’m not going to say they aren’t put under a lot of pressure to look a certain way, but I think the modeling industry as a whole is leaning towards healthier habits instead of crash dieting and starvation.

    • DeadliestTrap EverLaid💎 says:

      @Natalie Bolt
I remember that! But actually she stops drinking water entirely only 12 hrs before the show. Honestly, I think that that tip comes from the trainers, since if you want your muscles to really show, you are better off dehydrated…

    • Natalie Bolt says:

DeadliestTrap EverLaid Thanks for the correction! There’s so much misinformation out there.

    • Ma Z says:

They are encouraged to eat very strictly prior to the runaway show, but not during the entire year. The not drinking water thing has to do with some models who walked right after pregnancies, I’m not sure if it’s all of them.
its not difficult to find the diets they follow on the internet, and most of them seem to be okay, expect they have lots of protein and almost no fiber.
Also, complementing what Abbey said about detox days backfiring, every single one of them says they eat a LOT of pizza and hamburgers after the runaway show.

  • Klein Geld says:

Detox BS aside, she actually seems to have a fairly good grasp on nutrition and seems to enjoy making and eating these meals. I was so pleasantly surprised to see rice and pasta in there.
And tbf the detox day was still better than what some of the “wellness youtubers” eat on a regular basis or promote as a substantial option for everyday. If I interpret it as “I ate so much oversalted crap last night, I felt dehydrated all night despite drinking 2l of water”, I think it’s not as bad. (…even though the lunch gets a big no from me)

  • Jaded Kate says:

Thanks for this video Abby. Sanne is also my favorite go-to for recipes and ideas. She adds spice to everything, which I love because it’s the best way to add flavor.

She tries to make her own salad dressings by using healthy fats from nut butters, olive oil, avocado and not store-bought dressings, which is great because they contain so much unnecessary additives, sugar, salt, omega 6 fat

She focuses on healthy food but she doesn’t focus too much on severely restrictive tendencies, she enjoys her food and gets genuinely excited by sharing her recipes.

Also thanks for sharing her calorie intake because I thought she would probably only get 1200 kcals per day. (Sorry, I’m not that well versed in calories and macros)

But I also feel like she does have plenty of good, balanced, nutritional meals 🙂 Maybe some more “eat the rainbow” would be ideal ? 🌈🍉🥭🍍🥝🍠

  • Renae May says:

Love this format, it‘s super productive and constructive 🙂 I also love that you include stuff that goes beyond the basic nutrition and talk more about overall patterns, messages and also branch out into cooking advice and general themes (like that she seems to have fun in the kitchen!)
Personally I was surprised to see a model eat a diet that seemed way less restrictive than some of the other ones we‘ve seen! She seems like a lovely person and I feel like the detox stuff could definitely stem from the Victorias Secret days and the pressure she’s facing as a model. I definitely feel inspired to try some of these recipes out (even though I could never just have a smoothie for breakfast haha)

  • Rachel A says:

An interesting video idea would to be review hello fresh boxes, and review their contents and whether they’re balanced meals or not!

  • Lindy van den Bosch says:

“your body still deserves to eat”

Thank you so much for that

    • Abbey Sharp says:

      Lindy van den Bosch 🙏🏼❤️

    • marlee kitchen says:

Do you know the time stamp on that? I just finished watching the vid and don’t remember but want to hear it coming from her mouth cuz it’s reassuring

    • idk says:

@marlee kitchen 4:24 should be about right 😊

    • 1010 says:

Funny How People Are now trying to Make Money with her Videos. Btw: Your Body deserves to Not eat From Time to Time. Most People Tend to eating to much. More People die of obesity Than malnutrition. And isnt it proven How healthy fasting/ intermittent fasting is?!

    • idk says:

@1010 I’m not a dietian so I am unaware of the benefits/risks of intermiddent fasting. From my understanding, the phrase means you don’t have to completely starve yourself to lose weight. You might interpret it different but that’s how I understand it.

  • Rocio Lira says:

I am so happy I subscribed to your channel! I’m not a dietitian but I’ve been learning so much from you on the importance of having well-balanced meals, nutrients, and not restricting yourself either!😊❤️

  • Tessimon says:

I love detoxing! My favorite way is to have two kidneys and one liver, but I’ve heard you can get by with one kidney as well

  • Anuka says:

Abbey don’t ever stop being who you are! Thank you for your amazing, respectful, science-based and humorous feedback on these channels. Sending love from The Netherlands <3

  • Melissa Kolb says:

I appreciate that you always give your honest opinion without being overly critical or rude about things like others can sometimes be. You share more about facts and just point things out. It actually makes me want to watch your videos, instead of clicking out quickly like I do others when they are just being super negative!

  • Mairzy Doats says:

I love how positive you are about food. There are no “good” or “bad” foods, it’s just about how you want to feel. I don’t have to feel guilty about cake to know that it will make me feel sluggish which may be fine depending on what I’m trying to do. UV has started calling her food “garbage” again and I’m worried that she still harbors a disordered relationship with food.

    • Abbey Sharp says:

      Penny Opinions 🙏🏼❤️

    • Mairzy Doats says:

@Abbey Sharp Have you ever thought about infiltrating fb diet groups and making videos dispelling myths and harmful advice you find there? (Not naming any names of people or groups). I was in keto fb groups where alot of people were losing hair and thought fasting would help. There’s no sense posting within those groups but for people looking for community support it might be good for them to know some red flags to spot helpful people unknowingly spreading harmful advice.

  • TianRong Tan says:

Wow her foods look so colorful and really appealing. Well-balanced and make healthy food seem pretty easy to eat and cook.

  • Olivia Ross says:

“Even when you’re been traveling a lot (etc.)… your body still deserves to eat.” Whoa. That hit me hard as a model and as someone in recovery from EDs and BD. Thank you!!!! It’s the dang truth!

  • Alexi Liera says:

I actually love you haha! There are so many dieticians I know that perpetuate ridiculous health myths. You’re the most clued-up I’ve seen by far. Amazing stuff, thank you for taking the time to make this video.

  • Shay Velasquez says:

I love this! Feed your bodies ladies stop being afraid of calories! “You’re body deserves to eat!”

  • Christan says:

I love that you addressed the ph of lemon water, I’m a dental hygienist and have seen people use this trend frequently and cause acid erosion to their teeth. Often convincing patients to avoid lemon water can be difficult as they are so convinced it makes them “healthier”.

  • Taureanfitness says:

I love Sanne! She’s so sweet & has come so far in her health journey this video was made 2 years ago, you should see her now
