THE #1 MUSCLE UP TIP THAT NOBODY TALKS ABOUT

When I started calisthenics, the muscle up seemed like it was so far away. I wanted it so badly and tried for months without success. It all changed when I tried this technique out!

This is fantastic! Thank you! Still recovering from surgery but I’m back into pull ups and can get 10 now, put on a few pounds too and back onto solid food. I’m determined to do a muscle up, I’ll start practicing this too in the park on my way home from the studio. Cheers from this Aussie in LA.

  • Kevin Soncuya says:

I was doing this for reps before and thought I was wasting my time but I knew my body was totally beat afterwards. This move is hard. Thanks for the tip! I’ll keep doing these.

  • ModernWarfareShorts says:

I’m currently in a competition with a friend seeing who’ll do the first complete muscle up, with this I think there is no hope for him! Thanks for taking the time to create this easy to follow video! All the best for yours and your channels growth 😊

  • Ross Downie says:

Been trying to do a singular muscle up for over 2 years… thanks to you, l was just able to do 3 clean muscle ups!!! 💪💪💪

  • miketran says:

This was the single best tip for me to finally get my first bar muscle up…I am a strict pull-up guy and I could not overcome my tendency to pull vertical… This tip is definitely the key…I practiced a few of the pull down movements you showed, and nailed my first muscle up in my first try…Thank you!

  • Ed Ted says:

Finally a “side view” tutorial and some slo mo! I actually learned kipping muscle ups (which are awful) and I’m re learning them the proper way and this technique is something I thought might be the key before actually watching this tutorial. So I know I’m on the right path. Big thumbs up for this. Anyone like myself that can do at least 10 head over the bar pull ups and around 20 deep dips and still cant do “proper’ muscle ups knows its not really about those movements.

  • Active for years says:

I have been trying to do a band assisted muscle up for over two years, after seeing this I have achieved it at last…..after 2 weeks. Thank you!

  • Marko Olujić says:

Because of you, today I did my first muscle up! Thank you!!! 😊

  • e1 coaching center says:

Best video on muscle up, keep it up

  • Aledet says:

i struggled around 6 moths now, to pull both arms over the bar at same time, now i finally got it, cus of your little tip. thx so much 😊

  • Max says:

I literally watched this video whilst walking to the park. Then did a muscle up within 5 mins. Thanks 😊

    • Simnett Nutrition says:

      Get it!

    • Malik Derriche says:

Could you do it before? I can do 30 clean pull ups and I can do explosive pull ups rly well but struggle with muscle ups even with resistance bands do you think if I try this out I’ll get me first muscle up?

    • Max says:

@Malik Derriche I had done some when I was at university, about 10 years ago.

I had tried it in a gym a few times recently, with no success. But then I found this video..

The concept of getting your hips to the bar instead of pulling yourself up was a game changer.

    • Max says:

@Malik Derriche I’ve also done ring muscle ups since from different video!

  • PEN PUN says:

I was trying to do muscle up for about 3 months now Ive been told I need to get more muscles and exercise more but after seeing this video the ”like slaming the trunk of car” thing helped me do 3 muscles ups in a row for the first time. Thank you very much for the technique.

    • Simnett Nutrition says:

Heck yah! Sooo happy I could help. You’ll never forget your first one… or THREE for that matter. Thanks for letting me know. Congratulations. 👊👊👊

    • Fly Lopez says:

@Simnett NutritionI Will try it tomtow great video , also do you take creatine u are in amazing shape

  • EconTutor says:

The reason why it’s so hard and so effective is hypertrophic stretching: you’re moving in the toughest part of the progression, and you stimulate your lats at their max level of stretch. Great video thanks!

  • Vincent Eigen says:

Tried working up my way towards muscle ups for around a 3/4 year. With your tip I finally did it now 🥰

  • parkourninja says:

I literally have a strict bar muscle up. But I slam my chest into the bar whenever I try to do a swift muscle up. I’ll try this.

  • Anton says:

I have been working on all the usual prep work for a muscle-up (pull-ups, chest-to-bar pull-ups, dips, etc.) for the past 10 months. And still I could barely do one cranky muscle-up. After practicing the exercise shown in this video for just 2 days, I have done 3 muscle-ups in a row! Thank you so much!

  • Guus Gesink says:

Thank u very much for this tip!!! Nailed my first muscle up after 3 trainings👌

  • Ridwan Adewusi says:

Awesome broo… I was able to do a muscle the same day after practicing the move you showed…. Let’s goo🔥🔥!!!!

  • Toby H says:

Great tip! I’ve definitely been struggling with most the other suggestions & tutorials – this probably suits me better since I get good height, just not ending up with my chest on the bar. Going more ‘all-the-way-up’ seems to be how I’ll go (always the hard road hahaha). Thanks.

  • David R. says:

This video by far makes more sense than any other video I’ve seen on YouTube about explaining muscle-ups. I have a pull-up bar in my backyard, I got excited and walked out during this video to try this technique. It’s HARD af 😂 You make it look easy. But I will surely keep trying. I’m 48 and just got back from the gym. Maybe after I recover I’d do a better job.

    • Rikesh Nathoo says:

any progress on the muscle up bro?

    • David R. says:

@Rikesh Nathoo nope 😂 I only went to the gym twice since then, and got occupied with work. But it’s the first thing on my bucket list now and I will definitely update when/if that ever happens:) thanks for checking bro
