I think short women live the longest

  • @Airboosts says:

195cm, 93kg, roughly 17% body fat (bulked a little too hard), was a stick growing up – perhaps lowered my igf1 levels by not having optimial nutrition. Frail as a young one.

Perhaps saved me a few bonus years! Haha

Great video, just researched this last week then this video came up!

Great info, Siim. I just finished reading Kurzweil’s book, “The Singularity is nearer.” If you’re not familiar with him, he’s a futurist with an excellent track record. In terms of longevity, he believes that we’ll approach “escape velocity,” by 2030, i.e., the point in time when medical science and genetics have progressed enough to add one year to your life for one year you stick around, if that makes sense. Example: An 80 year old person who would likely die in 2032 may have their life extended to 84 years and die in 2034. At least that’s how I understand it. Medical science (like technology) is advancing at an accelerated rate thanks to AI. Bottom line: never in the history of humanity has there been more reasons to stay healthy. He also predicts that the first person to reach the age of 150 has already been born. Interesting read.

I am going to live longer and spend more years wishing that I was taller. Oh the joys!

  • @andrewnorris5415 says:

GIGANTISM is not pronounced as in GIGA (computer memory) – but as in GIANT. Can fully understand the confusion and how hard it is as a non native ENG speaker.

  • @ZZZZ-mkv says:

I think I would rather be tall than live 4 extra years as an old man.

  • @pjjp6341 says:

I got Andre the giants autograph! He is a big man, big heart too!

  • @aronlane4664 says:

That was Andres billed height and weight for wrestling , at most he was close to 7ft , many claim he shrank later in life but he can be seen on YouTube on the Don Lane show standing next to the 6ft 4 Don Lane and it’s just incorrect because he was in his prime at the time , he still was huge though and using him as an example is still valid of course

Great video.. An idea for you..Are you doing ” Dead Hangs ” ? If not there are plenty of videos to explain how to do it. Dead Hangs done as the last exercise in a workout decompress your spine and make your upper back stronger and improves your posture and possibly stopping the height decrease as you get older. The goal is 2-3 minutes hanging. I do 2-3 minutes and have been doing them for about 2 yrs. I am 69yrs old,5’11”.163lbs..

  • @mTLpHfumfaomd says:

I think its well known in animals at least in pets. Generally within species, breeds of smaller sized tend to have longer lifespan. Could also be the general reason why female, generally shorter, live longer than males, generally taller

Good video. Thank you for the in depth analyses.

  • @Physionic says:

I knew my height was bad for something – couldn’t all be sunshine and rainbows.

    • @theancientsancients1769 says:

What is your height? You look tall 🤔 Maybe it’s a new filter? 😂

  • @KasKade7 says:

Human growth hormone is a very interesting hormone. Yes, extremely high levels is accelerated aging. I believe even when injecting it for muscle growth it’s bad for longevity. But at the same time HGH is also the fountain of youth. When you’re raising HGH by fasting, exercise, quality sleep and diet it is very good for longevity and youthful appearance.

About aging and body height. Just take a good look around when walking a busy street. Shorter people almost always look younger than their age. Simply because their biological age is younger. The studies support this, but it can be observed easely as well. Having a few trillion less cells is big deal long term it seems. Less energy needed for maintenance. Less chance for cancer as well. You can control weight however. Being slim is same story compared to obesity. Few trillion less cells is very good. At the same time being slim means more autophagy since your cells recycle faster. The good news is that if you’re still alive at age 80,90 and 100. You will naturally shrink and slim down alot. There are almost no fat or tall old people. The body cannot sustain it energy wise.

  • @mexicounexplained says:

“Gigantism,” is not pronounced with a hard “g” at the start of the word and has stress on the second syllable. It’s pronounced, “jai·GAN·tizm.”

  • @chrisbell8418 says:

Andre was around 7 feet tall. Wrestling is always a work. Every aspect of it is exaggerated but he was huge and he did have acromegaly

  • @stephm4047 says:

André was born in France from a Bulgarian father and a Polish mother. He did not do the French military conscription because the army had no uniform for his size. 😂

  • @---rg1gb says:

You never see a person taller than 6’2″ on the news for being healthy and old. They ever make it that long

  • @masterchief6970 says:

Thanks Siim. This confirms your basic tenets of targeted intermittent fasting. IGF1 probably should be cycled.

  • @aexetanius says:

The taller you are, the more your heart has to work to pump blood throughout your body. In taller people, blood must travel greater distances, especially from the heart to the brain (against gravity) and to the extremities like the toes. Taller individuals also tend to have more body mass and therefore a larger blood volume. The heart must pump more blood with each beat or beat more frequently to meet the body’s oxygen demands. Gravity affects taller people more when it comes to returning blood from the legs to the heart, increasing the workload on the circulatory system.
